Kelly Hogan Kinard

Kelly Hogan Kinard is the Public Humanities Scholar with SCETV’s Between the Waters project. She contributes to content development in addition to maintaining the social media front and blog. She is a public historian with experience in Lowcountry museums and archives. Kelly received  her MA in History from the joint program at the Graduate School at the College of Charleston and The Citadel. Her master’s thesis examines the tattoo as a means of public and private rebellion when decorating the bodies of upper and lower class women in Victorian America and Britain. Her research interests include gender history, public history, oral history, American military history, digital humanities, and history of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Kelly can be reached at
